One Record, Many Marketplaces: Odoo 19 as Our System of Record

Marketplaces each hold part of the truth. We keep the whole of it in one place.

Running many marketplaces means many versions of the truth. Amazon in each region, Walmart, freight forwarders and suppliers all keep their own records, in their own formats, with their own delays. Decisions made from any one of them are made from part of the picture. Our answer is a single system of record: Odoo 19.

What lives in the system of record

  • Products. One master record per product, with identifiers, materials, packaging weights, compliance data and approved claims.
  • Stock. Inventory by location, from the factory to the freight forwarder to each fulfilment network, including goods in transit.
  • Purchasing and shipments. Orders, packing lists and carton data, reconciled against what the forwarder measured.
  • Money. Sales, marketplace fees, advertising costs and settlements, so margin is calculated on what was actually paid.

How it connects

Marketplace data arrives through official reports and APIs, is checked, and is written to Odoo by automated workflows. Analytics and AI agents read from the same records. When an agent recommends a reorder or a price review, it works from the same numbers our team and our partners see.

Why it matters

  • One answer to "how much do we have?" across every market.
  • Margin that includes everything: fees, surcharges, advertising, freight and duty.
  • Compliance data that travels. Packaging weights and product information flow into EPR reports and listings from one source.
  • Clean handover. Partners can see the same records we use, without spreadsheets passed back and forth.

A system of record is not exciting. It is what makes everything else, from automation to reporting, trustworthy.
